If there's one hormone that's making a buzz in the beauty industry today, it is the human growth hormone or HGH.

HGH is a compound made up of a number of amino acids that are created by the anterior pituitary gland of the brain. The hormone's prime function is to promote growth and cell production in the human body. It also increases the body's height and muscle mass and helps retain calcium, maintaining healthy bones and immunity, reducing fat and controlling sugar and insulin levels.

HGH is manufactured by the body throughout a person's life but it present in high levels during the teenage years. It is present at all stages because it helps in child growth and also adult metabolism.

Because of its many wonderful functions, this hormone is produced synthetically. The first ever synthetic HGH was created in the year 1985 and has been FDA-approved for medical uses in children and adults.

In children, the hormone is injected to treat short stature of unknown cause and also to cure poor growth caused by ailments like Turner's syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, chronic kidney insufficiency, HGH deficiency and small babies.

When it comes to adults, the synthetic form of HGH helps treating conditions like short bowel syndrome, HGH deficiency, and muscle wasting disease.

Other than the FDA-approved uses of the synthetic form of HGH, there are also other unapproved uses of the product. There are actually people who utilize the hormone together with performance-enhancing drugs like steroids, to increase muscle size and improve athletic performance, but this isn't actually scientifically proven to be effective.

Also, some so-called anti-aging experts have speculated and claimed that HGH products could reverse age-related bodily deterioration. But these claims, too, are unproven.

These people who use HGH for non-approved purposes obtain injectable HGH from doctors who prescribe it for off-label purposes and through Internet pharmacies, anti-aging clinics, and web sites. Some others get the synthetic HGH or the products that increase HGH in spray and pills forms.

Before you get interested in purchasing these synthetic products, you first know that this can come with side effects such as nerve, muscle, or joint pain, swelling due to fluid in the body's tissues, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness and tingling of the skin and high cholesterol levels.

One more consideration other than the side effects, is that there is a possibility that you can get the HGH from sellers that are just frauds, so you should be really prudent.
